Our Story

Affectionate Care Therapy Animals (ACTA) was founded in 2023 in Northern Virginia. We currently serve the DC Metro area.

Affectionate Care Therapy Animals, LLC (ACTA) is a dedicated service offering emotional support and companionship through certified therapy dogs. We currently have two certified Bernese mountain dogs, Hayden and Quinn. Our dogs are certified through the Alliance of Theraphy Dogs and the American Kennel Club.

Hi, I’m Tanyia Davila, owner of Affectionate Care Therapy Animals.

I love to see my animals, Hayden and Quinn, helping other people, whether it is assisting a group of kids at a school or bringing comfort to the elderly at a senior care facility.

Therapy Dogs vs. Service Dogs

Therapy dogs are different from service dogs, which are specially trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities. Therapy dogs don’t have the same special access as service dogs in public places.
